Leo Tolstoy Mini-Challenge
The Leo Tolstoy Mini-Challenge will be for 2009-2010. The challenge will start January 1, 2009 and go through August 31, 2010.
The goal of this one is to read TWO of his books.

* (1869) Voyna i mir (Война и мир); English translation: War and Peace
* (1877) Anna Karenina (Анна Каренина); English translation: Anna Karenina
* (1886) Smert' Ivana Il'icha (Смерть Ивана Ильича); English translation: The Death of Ivan Ilyich
* (1891) Kreitzerova Sonata (Крейцерова соната); English translation: The Kreutzer Sonata
* (1899) Voskresenie (Воскресение); English translation: Resurrection
* (1911, written 1896-1904) Fal'shivyi kupon (Фальшивый купон); English translation: The Forged Coupon
* (1912, written 1902-1904) Khadzhi-Murat (Хаджи-Мурат); English translation: Hadji Murat
One movie may be substituted in the place of one of the books, if you want.

Absolutely, I'm in as well. I love Tolstoy's writing with all my heart. I haven't put up a post yet, but I'm adding him to my sidebar now. Does it count, by the way, to read one of his if one has read it before? I've read Anna Karenina several times, but I wouldn't mind it again. And, of course, I must finish War and Peace.
I'd like to do this one too please. I'll get a post up when I can. I'm struggling with my health right now. At least I can still read as much as I want to. :)
I would like to participate in fact I am reading Death of Ivan Ilych right now so I have one down and I think the next will be Anna Karenina cause I have it for one of my groups.

For sure I am in this. I love Tolstoy. This year I have read War and Peace-read 40 years ago in the old translation and also Resurrection. For the Challenge I will read Anna Karenina and Childhood.
